We are looking to recruit a full time, registered Veterinary Nurse for our Inverness practice more.
There are several ways in which we can help you cover the cost of veterinary fees & medicines for your pet. One easy & great way is to become a member of our Pet Health Club - this means that all the costs of your booster vaccinations and routine health care are covered and the costs spread out monthly. Members also receive a discount on other consultations and pet food.
Pet insurance covers the cost of veterinary treatment and can be very reassuring if the unexpected happens. We recommend PetPlan and policies can cost as little as £6.00 per month but there are a range of companies which provide insurance, from Tesco to Direct Line. Please contact our VN team for further information.
If you are on a low income and in receipt of housing benefit or council tax benefit, then you can register with the charitable PDSA pet-aid scheme. Crown Vets is the only practice in Inverness-shire, which offers this scheme, and when registered, you can have free basic veterinary care for your pet. There are guidelines for registering and some of these are set out below. We thoroughly recommend that you register for this scheme if you are eligible, or if you know someone who may be eligible, please ask him or her to get in touch with us. You must pre-register to be eligible for the free treatment and your pet must be healthy before joining the scheme, so if you are on these benefits, you should register your pet as soon as you can. You must also be resident in postcodes: IV1, IV2, IV3, IV5 or IV63 and the PDSA will only help one pet per household. Your pet must be vaccinated and discounts are available for vaccinations once you are registered with the PDSA. Remember you must register your pet when he/she is healthy – to register please come into one of our surgeries and complete a form, bringing with you proof of benefit and a postal order for £5 made out to the PDSA. You can contact the PDSA directly on 0800-7312502 or please feel free to call us for further information.
Remember the PDSA only covers basic veterinary care and it doesn’t cover worming or vaccinations, out-of-hours appointments, home visits, weekend & evening appointments, pet food, neutering, dental care, cremation, chemotherapy, specialist referral or any control of a bitch’s season. If you want more comprehensive cover you should consider pet insurance. The PDSA charitable scheme covers some operations and some medicines; it doesn’t cover all operations and all medicines.
If you are on a low income, some charities may help with the cost of neutering dogs, cats and sometimes rabbits. We can advise you of the best source of help, but you must tell us before you book the operation that you would like help with the costs of the procedure. Cats’ Protection, Inverness will occasionally help with the costs of cat neutering and you should contact them directly. The Dog Aid Society, which is a Scottish charity based in Edinburgh, will help with the cost of dog neutering if you are experiencing financial hardship but you must contact them directly before booking an appointment with us.
We also offer 0% finance for fees through Braemar finance. All credit is subject to status; please speak to our Sonia Howell or Kerrin Williams for further information.
