Our Awards

Crown Vets is proud to be a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons accredited practice. Not every practice is accredited in this way and being accredited means that you can be sure that our practice meets certain standards; you can find out more about the practice standards scheme here. The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, or RCVS, was founded in 1844 and is the governing body, which regulates our profession. The practice standards scheme was initiated in 2006 and our practice became a member within a year of its inception.

Our practice manager, Sonia Howell, was a finalist in the practice manager of the year awards, in 2010. The awards, which are held annually and cover the whole of the UK, recognise managers with exceptional talent and we are very proud that Sonia reached the final. Sonia also recently completed her ILM certificate.

Alison Laurie was nominated for veterinary surgeon of the year 2010 and one of our senior nurses, Suzanne Purdie, was nominated for VN of the year too!

Lauren Innes, a trainee veterinary nurse passed her exams and is now in her third year of her VN training with Thurso College.

Our sister practice, Kessock Equine Vets, won the Veterinary Marketing Awards in 2009. The VMA awards recognise the achievements of practices that have proactively promoted their products and or services to their customers. This is a fiercely contested competition and a recognition that our efforts have been worthwhile.
