Alison's Articles

Stay up to date with Alison's latest advice and tips

My name is Alison Laurie-Chalmers and I graduated from Glasgow Vet School in July 1983. In 2023, I retired after 40 years in practice, almost 20 years of which I worked at Crown Vets.

I really loved my job, my patients and my clients and I would get a real buzz out of making a pet better. For almost 10 years, I wrote weekly articles for the local newspaper and for the Crown Vets website so I have gathered up quite a Library! I hope you enjoy my articles, they are taken from my experience of similar cases seen over the years.

I will be spending my retirement with my family, exploring the beautiful Highlands on our doorstep, and we are still finding new walks for our two Border Collies, "Moss" and "Fern".
