Douglas Macdonald

Douglas grew up in Ross-shire and graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2013, having studied Biology at University of Glasgow, and undertaking his Masters year conducting malaria research at the National Institute for Medical Research in North London. Douglas also studied externships abroad during his veterinary degree at UPenn, USA.

He is likely to be a familiar face to many, having completed a large amount of 'seeing practice' at Crown Vets during his training and then working here after qualifying from 2013-2019. He rejoined the practice in April 2025, having locumed full time throughout the UK in a broad variety of charity and private small animal general practices.

Douglas is interested in all aspects of general practice and surgery, providing contextualised care for patients and clients in equal measure.

In his spare time, he enjoys travel, hiking and exploring with his senior Springer, Droo.
