Emergencies

In an emergency...

We are proud to provide a 24hrs Emergency Service. There is a Vet on-call whenever the practice is closed and can be contacted by calling the usual practice number 01463 237000 (Argyle Street), 01463 712202 (Canalside) or 01463 793700 (Culloden). In most instances, the duty Vet will arrange to see you at Argyle Street or at Inshes Practice both of  which are equipped with extensive surgical and monitoring facilities. Alternatively, if appropriate the Vet will give advice over the phone and may arrange for you to come into the practice during opening hours.

Treatments such as medications may be dispensed or injected and your pet will be given an appointment for a check-up later. Your pet may be admitted at the practice for further tests, or if required surgery. The duty Vet and duty Nurse will provide ongoing care for your pet while they are in with us, keeping you informed at agreed intervals to let you how your pet is getting on.

If your pet is with us when the practice is closed, they will be checked at regular intervals, as determined appropriate by the duty Vet. The duty Vet and Nurse are not in all the time to monitor animals throughout the night. They will make regular visits depending on the condition of your pet and always last thing at night and first thing in the morning.

Should your pet require intensive care and 24-hour monitoring where appropriate we may refer you to one of the Veterinary Hospitals, where clinical teams are available throughout the night. Understandably, the provision of such intensive care can be costly, however if we consider this necessary we will discuss this option with you.
