Alison is originally from Largs, Ayrshire and she qualified from Glasgow Veterinary School in 1983.  Alison has over 35 years of experience as a general practitioner, working in both mixed and small practices throughout the UK - including Oban, Aberdeen, Inverness, Worcester, Dunvegan and Inverness again before joining us as Burgess & Donald practice in 2002.

Alison was the UK winner of the Petplan 'Vet of the Year' award in 2011. We are proud of her achievements and her continuing commitment, dedication and care for her patients at Crown Vets as one of our Senior Consultants.

Alison’s main interests are small animal medicine, ultrasound and cardiology. Her interest, enthusiasm and dedication within these fields has opened up and improved our diagnostic facilities in-house tremendously over the past few years. Alison is our lead vet in the investigation and treatment of heart disease. Alison lives in Inverness with her partner Craig, outside work she enjoys gardening and walking in the beautiful Highland scenery.

Using her experience of similar cases seen over the years, Alison writes weekly Vetspeak articles for the local newspaper which we also publish on the Crown Vets website.
